Thes diploma of scalp pathology and surgery has been created for the first time in France in 1999. It is a one-year program about all diseases and surgery of hair and scalp. Courses and practical works are given at Paris Medical School and Hospital.

Program includes besides the fundamental basis of scalp and hair pathology, anatomy, histology, techniques of classical scalp surgery, scars and tumoral pathologies, restoration surgery of alopecia due to radiotherapy or burns, adjuvant treatments of common baldness, etc. It also emphasizes on the objective evaluation of the various parameters of each type of alopecia. Moreover, sessions about fundamentals of hair research and the newest molecules for hair loss and hair growth are also given.

All participants to this diploma are well trained dermatologists or plastic surgeons. Several colleagues, world famous authorities in the field of hair and scalp lecture on the above topics.
